Evvie McKinney & DOE Join Forces on New Anthem of Faith

A dynamic duo! Grammy-winning artist DOE joins vocal powerhouse Evvie McKinney on a new song. "Believe in Jesus" is a heartfelt declaration of faith with bold lyrics and a sweet melody that will soothe your soul.

Evvie McKinney Shares the Meaning Behind the Song: "I've been told many times not to say Jesus' name..."

McKinney, winner of the first season of FOX's music competition The Four, shares that the idea to write "Believe in Jesus" started with a conversation. "The world glorifies everything made by God, except for God Himself," McKinney explains.

“Believe in Jesus” is a personal declaration expressing that although the people of the world have progressed away from Christ, I will still stand and let the whole world know that I am the daughter of The King; Jesus of Nazareth, the Father of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob."

Evvie goes on to recount that she was often advised to avoid saying the name of Jesus in interviews and on TV to avoid offending people. It's not uncommon for entertainers to use broad terms like "faith" and "spirituality" when sharing their beliefs with the public.

However, Evvie wants to make her message clear:

"Once the listener hears this song, there’s no doubt that you will walk away knowing who my allegiance is to. I pray that every person that listens to this song is spiritually hugged by the Holy Spirit and becomes a sounding advocate for our Lord."

DOE is also no stranger to proclaiming her belief in Jesus and righteousness.

She is one of five miracle children of the renowned Christian composers Kim and Dewitt Jones III. DOE made her transition from the family group FOREVER JONES, well known for their hit single "He Wants it All," to a ground-breaking solo artist with thought-provoking singles such as "When I Pray" and "Holy Hands."
