He reminisced on sharing the Gospel with her through the years and often prayed for his children's "hearts to know and love God." Amaya's baptism was an answered prayer. The rapper wrote, “Today, my daughter publicly declared her decision to follow Christ, and it’s just now hitting me. I’m overwhelmed with emotion, (Dad is crying)” The greatest gift a parent can pass on to their child is the knowledge of salvation and a love for God.

During the interview, former Washington Redskins Cornerback, Darrell Green, interrupted her to say hello. He referred to the gospel artist as his "homegirl" and she responded warmly. Green and Adams are both from Houston Texas and are considered legends in their respective fields. Yolanda Adams is one of few Gospel artists in history who has been able to crossover into mainstream entertainment while proclaiming the Christian faith. She explains this has been possible because she hasn't lost sight of what's truly important. "Once you realize your power is in your faith, you don't worry about all that other stuff." Adams states that the first thing she does when she wakes up is give thanks to God because if she forgets Him--she's messed up.
